ABOUT US
I moved to Hanoi in 2019, fresh out of university. I came to teach English and soak up the culture, but I fell head over heels for the coffee. Every corner of Vietnam, from misty highlands of Ha Giang to bustling city streets of Hanoi, each coffee has a unique rhythm.
The moment that changed everything happened on a clear morning in Ba Vi. Sitting with friends on a mountain-top viewpoint, I took my first sip of Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk. The view was breathtaking, but the coffee… It was unbelievable. Rich, sweet, alive. From that day on I was hooked.
Every time my family or friends from England come to visit, the same thing happens. They try the coffee, their eyes light up, so they take bags home as souvenirs. When I bring gifts back to visit, I only take coffee. I have never brought anything else back. Those simple, repeated reactions planted the seed: maybe I could bring this magic to more people in the UK.
With a Vietnamese wife and young son, Phinavo is more than a business for me. It’s the bridge between the two countries I love most. Bringing the very best of Vietnam’s highlands to British homes, with one cup of coffee at a time.
Welcome to Phinavo.
